Value Judgement

While I'm no pinko commie, you have to admire the cleverness of the claim:

"...help save or create at least two and a half million jobs."

My red, white and blue American version is:

"‘No’ most likely means ‘Not yet’."

That is so much less wishy-washy and definitely more clever.

Sometimes, Qlikview makes you work so hard to do something simple that I miss how easy it can be. Stacked bar charts are the perfect example.

Make your chart and check 'Values on Data Points'.

You get something that looks like:

If you're much more clever and observant than me, you would notice on the Presentation Tab a check box for 'Plot Values Inside Segments'.

Click that and you get:

One caveat: the data will only show if the segment of the stack is large enough to contain it. In the picture above, you'll notice that not all of the green segments show their value.

Which brings me to another Thumb Rule:

If you're small and insignificant, nobody will care about you and they certainly won't miss you.
